After almost a year I think I’ve come to the end of my rope. After so much hope for the Flash, this title has become nothing but a mess of convoluted plot and non-characterization. I’m seriously depressed because The Flash is one of my favorite characters, but this title exemplifies everything that’s wrong with the DC reboot. I would’ve liked to get to know Barry Allen, but ten issues in he’s still the a name and face with no personality.

  1. Damn, and here I thought it was just me… Guess I should’ve gotten into the Flash pre New 52…

    • that pre52 Johns’ run was loaded with so much awesome potential and then we get this. It’s such a slap in the face

    • I think “slap in the face” is more than a little hyperbolic, but I agree that this title hasn’t yet executed some of the interesting ideas and characterizations it’s introduced. I don’t think we’ve seen enough of Barry and Patty to believe that she’s become the love of his life, and I think the Speed Mind concept got left behind after the Mob Rule arc.

I can’t recall right now, did Flash’s trip into the Speed Force eliminate the “ticking time bomb” aspect of his powers?

I’m going to hold out until the 0 issue in September hoping it sheds some more light on what this Flash is all about.
