This issue felt like an issue of Strangers in Paradise, which is ironic given how the last issue ended with an apparent tie-in to the previous Terry Moore series. While, disappointingly, no answers were given to that cliffhanger this issue, Moore has managed to craft a wonderfully emotional issue dealing with lots of character development that needed to happen before the conclusion to the story in a few issues times. There are also some darkly sinister activities going on, and a creepy murder that felt like something that would fit perfectly into any given issue of Strangers. As we come close to the end, this issue is a true example of just what a master storyteller Terry Moore is; in less than half the time it took him to complete Strangers in Paradise, he’s presented us with the majority of a story that is, in many ways, broader and more complicated. It’ll be sad to see this series end, but if his work continues to be this fantastic, then it just makes me more excited for his next project.
