This is hard for me to imagine, and it’s only 13 issues in, but I am liking Echo better than Strangers in Paradise, and I have all 90 issues of SiP.  I know the criticism is that there is a slow build to this book, but I love that, because I have faith in Terry Moore that the pay-off will be huge.  Meanwhile, every issue of Echo has had all the elements to keep me interested while he builds the characters and plot; political intrigue, ordinary people put in extraordinary circumstances, a wee bit of sexual tension between the two main characters, and a hot chick who can blast people with her breasts.  What more could you ask for?  I’ve read The Thirty-Six Dramatic Situations, and this book has enough of them to keep me reading.  Most comics these days are lucky to have one dramatic situation.  The art is consistent with Moore’s past work, but his covers are amazing.  The interiors are black and white, and that somehow makes the colors on the covers always seem more dynamic to me.

I totally recommend this book to any comic fans.  If you’ve never read Terry Moore’s work, this is a place to start because it is unlike anything else he has ever done, or anyone else for that matter.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good
