This issue begins a new arc which really steps up a notch in terms of both art and plot. The story focuses on the kidnap of Casey Jones by the foot clan and Raphael’s desperate attempt to save him. The comic does a good job with recapping the readers and as always nails characterisations of the turtles. The dynamic between Raphael and Leonardo is always an interesting one and seems to be one if the main driving forces of this arc.

Equally good was the art by Mateus Santolouco who also worked on Secret History of the Foot Clan, a high point in the series so far. I think his designs of the turtles are brilliant, and I particularly like how different they look; something that is often only distinguished by their coloured bandanas. Mateus’ action sequences burst from the page, especially when Raphael is sent into a rage.

In a week of great comics this is the one I had the most fun reading, and what looks like the beginning of the best arc yet in this series.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
