To paraphrase Woody Allen: There’s an old joke – um… two elderly women are at a Catskill mountain resort, and one of ’em says, “Boy, the food at this place is really terrible.” The other one says, “Yeah, I know; and such small portions.” Well, that’s essentially how I feel about this book. Lobdell’s dialoge is labours to read, and his characterizations of Bart, Tim and Cassie will leave any fan of their previous incarnations wondering where to leave the check while walking out. But even with that, as a labored cringing along through this book, upon hitting the end all I could think was….really? thats it? I want the 5 minutes it took to read this back, but more than that I want Bart, Tim, Cassie and Conner back. Check Please!

Comments

  1. i wish i could edit and fix the typos here…..sorry.

  2. I totally disagree with your review.

  3. The fireman looking at a burning building with one of his co workers inside and saying “M__.” really made me dislike this book. I won’t type the accursed word.

  4. I’m not quite sure I understand where you’re coming from with when you say that fans of the previous characterizations won’t like these. Tim is very much the same one we left in Red Robin, and Bart is a bit more back to basics with his characterization. And I mean all the way back to Impulse. Cassie I will admit is different, the old one would probably not steal a car, but we also haven’t seen enough to think that she is completely different.
