Once again we have a great issue of Sweet Tooth and once again it takes me less then five minutes to read it. I don’t wanna make that sound like a negative but….well I can’t think of a word that won’t make it sound negative. Maybe it’s just me but this series has always been a quick read. So quick that when you have a bunch of previews in the back matter of the issue, it gets me angry cause I didn’t think the issue would be over so quickly.

But once again this is another solid issue by Jeff Lemire on both art and writing front. In fact, props for Lemire to bring more Hockey into this series because I have fallen in love with ‘Jimmy Jacobs’. He’s a fun, slightly insane character that should bring some nice humor into what is quickly becoming a depressing series. Plus I should note again, apart from how great the art is in general, how Lemire has drawn Gus differently. He looks more adult in this issue as if he’s grown. He puts more emphasis on drawing his face and he doesn’t look like a weak, little kid anymore. Of course his choice of weapon (a slingshot) is still kid-like, but the slow progression of manhood for Gus has been a highlight for this series.

So yeah: Solid issue all around even if it took less then a iFanboy mini episode length to read. Yes, I am now advertising iFanboy products in my reviews now. What are you going to do about it?

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
