Sweet Tooth has been my first introduction to the work of Jeff Lemire. After the first issue I could tell that this guy was something special. He has this unique feel to his writing and art that really draws you in and makes you feel like you are experiencing something out of the ordinary. Although there is a lot of new information revealed in this issue, there is still this real sense of mystery regarding the world and what exactly is going on.

However the best thing about this is the way he portrays these small, important, emotional moments. Like when Gus takes that first step out of the woods or when Jepperd pulls him out from under the bed and looks him the eyes. These moments allow you to sort of soak in the importance of these events and they simply give more life to the story.

I get the feeling that this is going to become a truly epic book in time.
