With the new arc going along right now there was something that has been bothering me lately. The idea of Jepperd taking these group of savages and storming the militant base is a good one. It'll rack up the tension as they fight each other and also to see just how quickly it'll go to hell. But now with Gus escaping with his new friends into the woods.....I'm wondering what's the point of it now?

I'm not saying there won't be twists or turns with the plot advancing. I'm sure Lemire has a plan to make all of these things converge into one. It just seems like we're going to needlessly waste time for Jepperd to go to the camp, fight everyone (including who he's recuiting no doubt), and then try and find Gus all over again. I know I should be looking to the issue now and not the future. But the idea of this, maybe, happening is gonna be a bit frustrating. Cause it could mean I know where this story is going before it is told which is a bit of a problem as a reader.

With the issue on a whole: it was okay. Probably the first issue in the series where it just felt like the same old, same old. Nothing was really groundbreaking in terms of the art or the story. Scratch one thing though; the page where the entire cult gathers at the bridge is very beautiful. Also, more impressive since he had to squeeze it all in one page. Plus the moment with Gus and friends in the sewer was beautifully handled. It looks like the dream he had of being an adult is going to come quicker then I thought.

Again while this isn't a bad issue persay, it did leave me questioning the structure for the rest of the arc. If it gets predictable like it could be, then I'm gonna be a bit upset. So far Lemire has told a story with twists and turns you DIDN'T see coming. It would be a shame if the plotting gets a bit too simple for this series at this stage.
