Well I wasting expecting that last page!

For the most part, this was an enjoyable issue. But part of me thinks Lemire didn’t bring much to the table in terms of experimentation. The last couple of issues he has been tinkering with the art and that’s what made this series fun. Outside from the cover, nothing really stood out art wise. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still Jeff Lemire and it’s a good looking book. But nothing really ‘wowed’ me in terms of the art.

I’m also glad that the story is continuing to move along nicely. Also glad that Jepperd isn’t an emo teenager anymore and once again back to the badass that he was. The stuff involving Gus is still a little hard to swallow. Seeing him get beat up like that was not confortable to read to say the least. Plus the continuation of Dr. Singh trying to find redemption and the mystery of the plague continues to make this an exciting read.

A good issue all around, but not the best in terms of what we’ve seen the last 2-3 issues. I still think this is one of the best comics on the stands though. Let’s just hope we see a bit more creativity coming from the art next issue.
