Scott Snyder is a genius. Not only is he doing an amazing job with my favorite superhero (Batman) he’s also doing a great job with this lesser known character. Like his work on Detective, the villain in Snyder’s Swamp Thing is a sibling. William Arcane might be one of the best new villains I’ve seen a long time. Seriously. Snyder knows how to write evil.

Despite the title, the story’s main character is Alec Holland. I realized while reading this that it’s very similar to what’s going on in Incredible Hulk. But done better. Victor Ibanez’s art is outstanding. He does a great job of showing the beauty and horror of The Green. I’m also very excited to see how this ties into another title. When Alec and this certain character meet, it’s going to be the stuff of legends. Swamp Thing is quickly becoming one of my top 5 favorite books of the New DCU!
