Snyder’s run on this book, as well as the Rot World story line, certainly end on a high. Given his fantastic writing ability I’d love to say it was Snyder that brought this home but I can’t. The story wrapped things up nicely but it really just seems run of the mill without the extreme talent that made this book so spectacular every time his pencils graced its pages: Yanick Paquette. The organic nature of his panels create a perfect mood for this story.

I also have to mention Fairbairn’s colors. He makes the penciling that is organic, grow off the page. The green that we know is teeming with life in a literary sense is alive in a literal sense. I’ve never wanted a book with more flowers in it until now.

This would have been a pedantic ending that was a long time coming but, teaming Snyder with Paquette, this last time made for a refreshing and satisfying ending.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
