I’m not quite sure if this issue is a letdown or exactly what I’m looking for.  Obviously the fight on the cover would have been contrived if it had actually taken place in this issue, but they might just be laying the groundwork for a future showdown between the GLC and the Kryptonians.  And that speaks to why I’m a little uncertain on my feelings for the issue.  I felt like this was a lot of foundation being built up for future developments (i.e., the tour of the planet, especially with the reveal about all the battleships).  So I guess the answer will come when I see how this is all going to pay off at the end of the series.  I may look back on this as an important chapter that got us to an amazing conclusion, even though it didn’t excite me as much as previous issues.  Still, a nice reveal on the last page, and I’m looking forward to next issue.  And Pete Woods is doing the best work I’ve ever seen him do in this series.
