I was looking forward to this issue in the hope that it would cap off this disappointing story arc with a good ending. Sadly, it didn't even come close.
I really hate to say bad things about comics, being a writer and artist myself, but this story went nowhere and seemed to accomplish nothing at all. I was excited about James Robinson coming on board for Superman and hopefully this is just him warming up because I am looking forward to the New Krypton story. The art is decent and I did get a laugh when Krypto just kept coming back at Atlas during their fight.
The ending left a lot to be desired in my opinion and was finished way too fast.

Yeah after much arguing on the site I read this at my LCS, hoping Robinson could pull a rabbit out of the hat and make this entertaining. Look I love it when someone brings a silly character like Krypto and make them more relevant then they usually are. But bringing this dog to the forefront made this issue suffer. So Superman cant beat Atlas (of course until the last couple of panels) but a medium size dog can make Atlas sweat a little more? Totally ridiculous and undermines Superman in general.
The writing was medicore as well, and in the end there is nothing to really say ‘This was a great arc’. I’m hoping Robinson can prove me wrong and make this series exciting…otherwise I’ll still think to myself ‘This guy can only write Starman’.
