With SUPERGIRL #3, this series gets out of its super-decompressed shape and into content of more average length, and it pays off. I really like the amount that Kara’s character was built in the first two issues, so now as the plot moves forward I empathize with her. A lot.

There’s still plenty of action going on in this issue, and that’s good too. So far this series has had an outstanding balance of cool visuals masterfully rendered and excellent character building, and those things remain here even as they make a little room for the plot to do things, too. And I really like how much of an outsider Kara is still – distrustful of Clark, unable to speak, much less understand, any Earth languages. Lost. Alone.

This is a series I always look forward to each month, and next month will be no different.
