This TP collects: Sensational Spider-Man #35 - #40, Sensational Spider-Man Annual #1, Spider-Man Family #1 - #2, Marvel Spotlight: Spider-Man, Spider-Man: Back In Black Handbook.
The first three issues collect the arc The Strange Case Of... where many Spider-Men start to appear all over the place. This seems like an excuse to show different types of Spider-Man costumes and wink at the fans saying "do you remember when...". There is the regular red and blue costume that several people have (maybe there are little changes that I don't notice but I doubt it), a Spider-Man with Hulk hands, a disco ball Spider-Man, a Spider-Man with the regular costume but with the web things in the armpits, a simple looking Spider-Man with black clothes and a white mask and a leather jacket, a simple Spider-Man that is red with a blue shirt over the costume with no detail, and the actual Spider-Man which wears the black costume. This arc starts with a short re-telling of Spider-Man until this point and Reed Richards and Curt Connors make an appearance.
The drawing is weird and makes Spider-Man and several other people look like they have tumors all over their body, and there is one panel where Spider-Man has a web under one of his armpits for some reason. The arc seems like it could be something important or big but it's not. The villain is idiotic and not very interesting and the dialog seems fake, but there is a nice ending where we see one of the victims have his mentality changed and it ends without a conclusion regarding this victim that changed forever, and it's nice to get the perspective of the victims and it sweetens the arc a bit for me. It's a nice vignette but without the consequences - I'm not interested in reading about this guy in the future finding a stash of weapons or an abandoned glider etc.
The second arc is in two issues and is called The Last Temptation of Eddie Brock. In this arc a sickly Brock discovers that aunt May is hospitalized in the same hospital he is in and he goes crazy and starts to have a conversation with Venom about what to do and it is a struggle between him and Venom, and I know Venom is an alien but it's basically a story about someone going crazy and hearing voices - talking to himself. It's a nice arc. The drawing is a little bit rough - sketchy but nice, and there are several panels with a somewhat realistic look to them, and the psychic lady appears in this (I remember her from the cartoon show from the 90s, and I can't remember her name: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drZtJHT_O5U).
The last issue is when Peter is angry at himself since aunt May is in the hospital fighting for her life, and a figure shows up that from what he says I think is god and he tells him to have faith and he shows him some of the people that he saved over the years which is predictable but nice, but they all have white shirts and brown pants to save the colorist time I guess. The drawing is somewhat realistic but with exaggerations. There is also a nice choice made for the strange figure that when he talks the drawing is of him with his mouth closed most of the time. There is a ridiculous moment where we see that character with a bathing suit that is designed in an old style - one piece that covers everything. We also see a glimpse of a possible future for a married and grown up Peter with kids.
The Sensational Spider-Man Annual is about Mary Jane and Peter Parker's relationship together. The drawing starts with a look like the artists took photos and changed them a bit in Photoshop, but that changes after that to a somewhat realistic look. We also get some info on SHIELD and their relationship with the local police which I liked. This issue is Peter talking to someone and Mary Jane talking to someone else and they have flashbacks. Those flashbacks are usually drawn in a style that resembles Archie cartoons a bit - like old wholesome youth of the 1950's or around that time. It almost gets to the point where there are too many flashbacks. It's another nice little vignette to the actual city life with SHIELD and the local police and I enjoyed it.
Spider-Man Family #1 starts with a very short retelling of the meeting with Venom, and in this Peter Parker is still using the suit and he is in a point where it starts to take control of him. We see Black Cat and he fights Sandman and it's a pretty pointless rehashing of an old story without giving the result - Venom starts to take control over him and he fights Sandman and that's basically it. The drawing style resembles a cartoon.
Spider-Man Family #2 has nothing to do with the previous one. In this one Venom is hunting people and Spider-Man is investigating why. Venom isn't really interested in Spider-Man - he's too occupied. There is again a nice little vignette of the Daily Bugle which I enjoyed. The art is again dirty/messy and sketchy and there is a nice panel where Spider-Man in his regular red and blue costume is crouching on top of a car and Venom is next to it and Spider-Man crosses his hands and it seems like he is DJing and Venom is a listener. Again no resolution and it's pretty pointless.
Marvel Spotlight: Spider-Man includes the following:
Back In Black: The Spider-Man Writer's Roundtable
The Masterworks: A Gallery of the Greatest Spider-Man Art
Roger Stern, the Spectacular Spider-Writer!
Bring Back My Goblin To Me!
Amazing Spider-Girl: The Ongoing Adventures of Mayday Parker!
The first part is an interview with writers, the second is showing of old art and commenting on it and giving interesting information - I didn't finish reading this, but there is for example a drawing of Spider-Man and a woman and they comment on how his height is just a bit higher than hers but not too much which is interesting - the thought behind the panels. The third part is an interview with Roger Stern, the fourth some info on the Green Goblin and the Hobgoblin, and the fifth and final part is about Spider-Girl.
Except for the second part, I haven't read the others since I'm not interested.
After that is the last part which is Spider-Man: Back In Black Handbook which includes many detailed biographies of characters - they are at least a page long and they include:
Cardiac, Conundrum, Daily Bugle (including information about the staff: names, job, current status and issue they appeared in), Delilah, Enforcers, Grim Hunter, Grizzly, Jimmy-6, Kraven The Hunter (with detailed information about how his lion vest works), Jason Macendale, Magma, Molten Man, Richard and Mary Parker, Randy Robertson, Shadrac, S.H.O.C., Silvermane, Slyde, Alistaire Smythe, Solo, Spider-Man Update (with a detailed information about how the extras work), Gwen Stacy Clones, Styx and Stone, Symbiotes (with information about all the symbiotes), Walrus, White Dragon, Debra Whitman, Will O' The Wisp.
The next biographies are half a page long:
Coldheart, Commanda, Drom, Empathoid, Blackie Gaxton, Headsman, Hobgoblin (2211 A.D.), Iguana, El Muerto, Mysterio, Ben Parker (Earth 6078), Spidercide, Spider-Man (2211 A.D.), Supercharger, Tendril, Tracer, Videoman, Vulture.
I haven't read them since I'm not interested and I want to learn about characters through the actual comics they appeared in.
At the end there are several drawings in different stages.
I can't recommend this TP but the little vignettes about the city life (SHIELD, the local police, the Daily Bugle etc.) are nice and I enjoyed them, so maybe pick up a trade of Sensational Spider-Man if you're interested in that sort of thing - I am and I'll buy a trade soon. It's the 2000s Sensational Spider-Man which is the second one, and it started according to Wikipedia under the Marvel Knights line. It would be interesting to get a trade of the original 1990s Sensational Spider-Man.
There is also the cover problem that happens mostly in DC and DC owned publications - where the cover is a bit shorter than the pages meaning that the pages are sticking out, but here it's barely noticeable.

Not to start a rant or anything bu Chlop:
Do you like the Spider-Man stories more in this trade or the stories after OMD?
I don’t read Spider-Man so I don’t really care 🙂
I’m slowly starting to choose trades to pick up, but as long as the story is good – great.
The things I’ll pick up are Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane, Ultimate Spider-Man TP #1, Sensational Spiderman TP, some Team Up TP and an old Spider-Man TP so maybe I’ll have to buy a Marvel Masterworks TP.
I’m in a stage where I’m willing to try a lot. I have a list of about 350 TPs to buy and I’ll go from there and see what I want to keep buying.
