The Secret Six are a group of former villains turn guns for hire that is possible one of the greatest team books out there.

One of the reasons why is this of loners, maniacs and potential schizophrenic, but they are united together for a common goal…..money. Their boss can be a bad guy, good guy as long as the check clears it does not matter. Its also clear in this arc that they are willing to take on anyone for the job…including Batman, cheetah, and the birds of prey.

Another reason is with a group of dynamic personalities the conversations and interactions can be hilarious. Whether it be Catman and Deadshot arguing over whether they are good to evil, to the boys trying to cheer up their female boss Scandal with a hooker dress up as her dead lesbian lover Knockout, or the group trying to explain and live with the antics of the crazy Rag doll.

Don’t get me wrong the book has a lot of slapstick, but there is drama. Scandal is dealing with the loss of her love, Deadshot is trying to protect his daughter from his criminal life and Cat-man is having nightmare of the poachers he murdered. To make matters worse Rag Doll is having family issues with the big reveal that the teams new archenemy is his sister Junior. With problems like these no wonder why they are a little crazy.

With last issues cliff hanger we are left wondering if the Six are alive and why one of them seem to betray them. Also, why is the Mad Hatter the one that hired them. With the Six anything is possible.

Story: 4 - Very Good

  1. Great Review Auron.  To me it’s pretty simple why the Hatter hired them.  He wants them to be weak so that he can pay them back for using him and then giving him the "boot" as we shall say.
