I've just finished the fifth volume of Scott Pilgrim 'Scott Pilgrim Vs. The Universe.' What originally struck me about this book sitting on the LCS shelf was the shiny, for lack of a better words holographic, (I lived through the 90's and early 2000), cover of a pissed off Ramona. I enjoyed the dower tone of the end leaving our protagonist, Scott Pilgrim, in the perils of dating Rarmona Flowers... Only this time the ex's (outside of the twins) are not the problem, Scott is! He has been busted for cheating on Knives with Ramona (in volume 1 and 2.) This has driven Scott and Ramona apart, sparking a lil' (continual?) flirting between Kim and Scott. Which leads to my Scott Pilgrim thesis: This story will end with Scott obviously using his extra life to defeat Gideon, but in a Y the Last Man fashion, Scott will fall for Kim Pine in a twist of fate during the sixth volume, or it will end in a typical heroes crescendo of guy gets girl. Either way I thoroughly enjoy this series and wait in great anticipation for the coup de grace.
