First off, I just wanted to say, the Marvel universe intimidated me. Just getting back into comics, I stayed clear of Marvel books because there were so many.

I did read spider-island thanks to a friend who referred it. When I found out that Kaine was getting his own ongoing run as a Scarlet Spider, I figured “Wth, why not. It’s fresh and a new take on the Scarlet.”

Boy am I glad I took the leap.

It’s only been two books, but I’m loving this character. “All of the power, none of the responsibility.” I love the personal conflicts of Kaine in the past and in the present. It’s a redemption story with a few bumps here and there bound to happen.

The artwork is crisp and makes you feel you’re part of the action.

Enjoying Chris Yost’s work so far and as long as the stories he writes keeps me enticed and involved. Definite Pull.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good
