Here’s the
thing about Scarlet friends and neighbors; I have no idea where this book is
heading and I’m loving the ride more and more with each issue. Alex Maleev is
slowly working his way into my top 5 artists of all time with every issue of
this book. The writing is Bendis at his best, good dialogue and heart. Scarlet
has so much goddamn heart it’s almost dripping off the page. Never have I loved
a character so fast and so earnestly. I would follow her to Hell and back and
Bendis knows it, which both scares and excites me. Each issue just reinforces
my belief that when it all shakes out I will be buying this hardcover for quite
a few people next Christmas. This is what comics are capable of.
