At this moment, Saga has 44.4% of the Pick of the Week. Why, though? Was it a light week? Eh… Maybe. Is Avengers vs. X-men still bad? Yes. Those could be contributing factors, but when it really comes down to it, Brian K. Vaughn and Fiona Staples are putting out a stellar title.
The universe and the science fiction within it that BKV is creating has depth, mystery and a sense of eeriness. You could compare it to our reality, except that our reality incredibly more boring. That being said, I’m starting to notice that BKV is not just using Saga to tell a story about a daughter and her dysfunctional family, but to build a solid and enveloping universe.. Which is fine with me! I love Saga and want to read more and more.
Issue 5, is a bit more tame than 4, but still great.
It made me question my ethics, laugh, and become a little sad towards the end. But it’s an unhealthy sadness… I guess.
Vaughn’s writing shines. You can tell its BKV. Its his style through and through. I can’t get enough of it. He’s someone I always look forward to reading.
And Fiona Staples…. Excellent.
Man, is she good. It’s insane.
We all know how good Saga is. I mean, 45% of you made it you pick. But keep reading (as if you had an excuse not to) because I feel like it’s going to be epic.

Story: 5 - Excellent
