Sorry about the spelling and grammer in this thing, i don’t have much time and have to write this thing very quickly.

Ok, i like this but i certainly think there are some problems

Firstly, I love reading a superhero/adventure comic for ADULTS. i like the fact it’s written as serious as a heart attack. I love the fact it all seems so important.

Personally, i don’t like reading superhero comics that playup the camp or are tongue in cheek. Comics that are just “fun” Those comics seem like the joel schumaker version of comics and it makes me want to kill myself because that shit is for children. i don’t want to be into childish rubbish.

I really enjoyed the art. I think there is a certain value to very traditional marvel style art. Once in uni i was discussing comics with a DJ friend of mine who only has a passing interest in comic. We talked about adam kubert (i consider this artist kind of in the same vain as kubert), he loved the guy he said that style makes him think of americian comics. I totally agree. This aesthitic has value. you know what it is, it makes you think of certain things.

Here’s a good and a bad thing. The character design. It was pretty cool but at the same time some of those people looked retarded. What was with the funny space helmet worn by a bunch of old dudes in a room? Da Vinci’s steampunk jetpack – yeah, that’s pretty cool but i kind of think steampunk is maybe the most nerdy thing on the planet. I mean, let’s be honest here.

A bad thing. This isn’t nearly as clever as it seems to be. It’s very easy to pick figures out of history and make them into weird superheroes. It’s not like the actual person is being written about; just the passing idea of the person. Da vinci invented stuff? kick ass, give him a jetpack that looks like he’s drawings. Galileo realise the sun wasn’t the centre of the universe? that guy needed an awesome telescope ray beam. Zhang heng was an asian mathemaction? well, forget the maths part and stick him in samuri armour.

I would really like to see Rutherford as a cool bio-weapons engineer, he did found out about anti-biotics after all

anyway, i have other thoughts. i liked the book it seems like theres a lot of places to go but i have to go now
