He's not Tim. He's not Jason. And there go all my guesses for who Red Robin was going to be. I'm guessing it's someone we know, but could this possibly be a coincidence that Red Robin is showing up at the exact same time Kingdom Come Superman is in JSA? I don't know. Geoff Johns has nothing to do with this title, so it could be a coincidence, but I'm guessing no.

I enjoyed this much more than I thought it would. I assumed this was just a gimmick until Batman RIP ended so we could see where the Robin title was heading. But this actually feels like an important, relevant story in the life of Tim Drake rather than a series of fill in issues. Nicieza (iFanboy has the writer as Dixon, but my cover says Nicieza, so I'm going to go with that) really seems to have a good grasp of these characters. The dialogue and interactions felt genuine, the plot made sense, and I'm intrigued and looking forward to the next issue. I can't ask for much more than that.

(Well, I could probably ask for one more thing... a new artist. Some people must like Williams' work, but I really can't stand it. Everyone looks like amorphous blobs. It works for the Penguin, but superheroes really shouldn't evoke mental pictures of giant garbage bags filled containing muck and smaller sacks of goo within the larger bag itself.)
