If you read everything around the museum incident in Berlin, it still felt like Euro-Caper. It was a bit jarring turning the page and seeing the giant axe wielding barbarian confront Tim.

Beyond that, Yost does a great character study on Tim. He's really pushing the "reinvention" of Tim as he distances himself away from the Bat family proper, while establishing himself in his new garb, and even acknowledging the depth to which he does this by placing him within Ra's circle. Seeing his ties with the Teen Titans was great. It helped to round Tim as a member of the DCU abroad, and his impact. The darker aspect of Tim relating to Anti Life was interesting, and hopefully will be touched upon later. All these really adding texture to the story and book overall.

Ramon Bach also studied Tim and it shows. It somehow feels that he has a better grasp of Tim out of the mask than in it, but builds upon his renderings of Tim as someone who's growing.

The book overall seems to be pulled in a myriad of directions. It has a slight hard-boiled caper feel, and still has the throws of being in the DCU, with grand or exaggerated guest appearances. It will be an experiment to see what works well together and what doesn't. Considering the backdrop of the storyline as "the Search for Bruce Wayne", it still reminds us that it's not just a street level story.
