I have no idea what happened in this comic.  And it cost 5 bucks.

The art is still pretty.

Story: 1 - Poor
Art: 4 - Very Good

  1. Avatar photo PymSlap (@alaska_nebraska) says:

well, i only started following this series at issue 25, maybe i should put my five dollars towards one of the series’ early trades…

  2. I am sure this ties in to something; I just have no idea what.

I’ve read the first few trades and they didn’t help.

But I haven’t read the whole series through, so maybe someone else can clue us in.

  3. HAHAHA!  I love this review.  Simple, yet to the point.  I know that Oeming wrote this one and I got flashes of his Cross Bronx series with this one where he tries to tie the mystical with the real world.  While the issue was pretty, I’m not sure how this will play out in the end.  Hopefully, it will because that’s what the damn sales pitch said.

The stuff in the back is really boss.  It will take a while to plow through but it’s worth it.

  4. The backmatter did look interesting, though the first thing I randomly opened to was Gail Simone insulting Marvel Girl, which actually sort of made me cry because I apparently have deep-seated issues related to my love of early Marvel characters.

    ANYWAY.

  5. I haven’t read it yet because my store ran out, but I’d imagine that if you’ve only read the frist few trades it wouldn’t make sense.  If you are completely up to speed it probably makes sense.  Then again, I am merely speculating.  From the cover, I assume it connects with the "Forever" story, which I consider the best Powers arc.
