Overbearing sneak previews of this book for weeks leading up to it aside, my opinion before reading this was that I was excited for this artist to be on an ongoing project, as I love Amanda Connor's art so, but a little lukewarm about the writing, since Palmiotti has been hit-or-miss with me and I know little about Gray. I was expecting this to feel kind of flat, but it was surprisingly well-rounded. Puns not intended. I kept expecting to be able to see right through where this was going, but the story manages to not tip it's hand, and we have some fun on the way there. Power Girl is showing that she's much more than brawn and boobs, showing off her brain with her secret identity and her new company. Of course, we see shadows of how her company's dealings are likely related to the threat PG battles in Manhattan, but I'm just happy to see one of my favorite under-used villains show up in this... Ultra-Humanite! This is a light-hearted and fun book, without managing to go so far as to be fluff, and of course has amazing art. Amanda Connor draws the best damned faces and reactions in the business.
Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Picked this up on a whim and it would have been my pick if not for Flash coming out today as well. I love little surprises like this.
Palmiotti and Gray have done a lot of good stuff. Check out Jonah Hex, hey look a new issue came out this week that you could try 😛
Great review sums up this first issue.
