This series is amazing! What else more can I say?

You have cyber spys.

A superhero with OCD problems.

Maxwell Lord smoking and drinking like a Bond villain.

Cyber-Alligators with detachable heads! (that act like fucking ‘Grow Monster’ toys for god sakes)

I don’t know what the hell Dan Didio and Keith Giffen are smoking or thinking outside of work but they need to continue. Other then the stuff I just mentioned I really don’t know what else to say about the story. Kevin Kho is trying to avoid Brother Eye but of course gets into a big predicament when he finally thinks he has. I still have no idea what the bigger picture is in all of this and quite frankly I don’t care. All I know is that Didio and Giffen just throw anything into each issue, especially this one, and it continues to be fun.

The art is pretty much the same with me in that I don’t know what else to say to make it sound different from my last review. Giffen and Koblish (shockingly an inker relating to Kirby that doesn’t hamper the art) are going full out on tributing to Kirby that I honest think his estate needs a check. The pages I particularly loved was the Cyber-Gators and their detachable heads. They looks pretty damn cool with so much detail in their bodies, especially with their heads. Plus the coloring by ‘4G’ Hi-Fi (I guess this means it’s a company?) should get a nod for how bright and vibrant it is. When the gators come in with their bright, yellow heads and red laser blasts I just loved looking at it.

So yeah, if you haven’t got this series by now, what is your problem!? One of the best looking books to come out of the new DCU and quite frankly the most fun book to come out as well. I never thought I would say any of this with Dan Didio as one of the head writers but damnit, he’s done an amazing job with this with Keith Giffen. Giffen, Koblish and ‘4G’ Hi-Fi also make this one of the best looking (and most ‘Kirbyish comic ever) on the stands right now. I don’t know if it’s up there with Batman as ‘the best’ at DC; but it’s pretty damn close.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
