Maybe it was that I was underwhelmed by the Secret Invasion tie-in (which was good by any other standards, but a comparative low-point for this excellent book), but I wasn't exactly looking forward to the new Corps. Just the same, they've won me over. You might even say they have... The Right Stuff? Ok, maybe I'm dating myself with that reference, but they do seem to be a diverse and interesting group, and I trust their characterizations will play off of each of them as we get to know the group better. Clearly, though, there's something bigger going on here. Is Worldmind Corrupted? We know that this diverse group of five new recruits was arranged before the Galactus incident (I appreciate the whole explanation, as their appearance seemed very sudden), but the rag-tag mass of recruits seems to be the antithesis of a productive strategy to rebuild. That's hammered home when Nova's overly-dorky brother is revealed as a member, even if that was a great moment nonetheless. I truly look forward to seeing how the new Corps play out once this title takes a step back from the mainstream Marvel Universe and becomes a full-fledged cosmic title (with gorgeous art, by the way) once again.

Nice review. I also get the feeling that the Worldmind is corrupted, but one never can tell with a non-human intelligence. One thing is clear – Worldmind speaks very differently these days than he did a few issues ago.
