‘Why is Abe Vigoda a Super Skrull on the cover?’

That was one of my only faults on this issue was on the cover. I loved the recent ones with Silver Surfer and Galactus, but this one was really fugly. It’s shiny and has some nice details in it, but the faces are…blah.

Still that doesnt hurt the fact of the great art by Alves. Man I hope he never leaves this title, he is so good at the landscapes and space scenes in this title. Of course you got the DnA crew working here and like I hoped, this tie-in isnt bad it’s pretty good. Although I’m not a huge history buff on Super Skrull, it is sorta interesting to see him outcasted from his people. It’s was also interesting to see this ‘Jihad’ reference in terms of this Invasion. I would have never thought of it that way but it seems true. These guys are only fighting because of what the religion states, not for what is right or wrong.

Another soild issue, hopefully the next part will be just as good. It’s nice when tie-in’s are actually entertaining and not a big waste of time and money…..I’m looking at you Secret Invasion X-Men….

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent

  1. I thought that this was the best use of Super-Skrull I have ever come across. In Annhilation, he grew into a deep character. Now he is interesting, as he shares his insights about Skrull politics and religion.

  2. Dudes, that splash page of Nova destroying the Skrull ship was so freakin’ awesome.

    Pow.

  3. I must admit, I haven been a big fan of the art. That was the case up until this issue. The art was great in this issue, and I’m glad see it getting better.
