Warren Ellis seems to really strike lightning with his Avatar #0’s.  Like “Black Summer” before it, “No Hero” opens with a bang.  I want this to be a spoiler free review, so I won’t give too much away.  This book seems to basically ask the question, are you willing to pay the price necessary to be a hero?  While not set in the “real world” like “Kick Ass”, it shows the painful and grusome fate that can befall an ambushed super-hero.  The art is typical Avatar far, good, but not great.  The story is enough to wet my appitite and I will continue to buy.

These Avatar issue 0’s are a good deal at $1.00.  I wish other small press companies would follow thie lead.
