It’s been a long time since Nightwing has been this good. As in Chuck Dixon-late 90’s good.

Higgins has been on fire. Weaving his story with the threads of what has come before, he’s easily made Nightwing one of the best of the New 52. It’s one of the few books that’s progressively gotten better throughout the first year, and Higgins is definitely a student of the game.

But you can’t praise one without the other. Eddy Barrows is probably the best artist to work on Nightwing since Scott McDaniel in the late 90’s. He’s definitely got the potential to be a star one day, and it shows month after month.

With equal parts action, character development, and mystery, Nightwing #10 is easily worth your time and money.

  1. Awesome review! I agree with you, Nightwing has improved in the last year and month after month it gets better and better for both the writer and the artist! Excellent, kinetic teamwork that those two are demonstrating!

  2. Nice review.

I’ve never read a Nightwing comic, but I’m thinking about it thanks to your review and some word of mouth from friends.

Is this a good jumping on point? I’m a Batman reader, so I’m up to speed on the Night of Owls storyline.

  3. Completely agree. This was my pick of the week and Nightwing has become one of the titles I look forward to the most each month!

  4. I agree with your review, Jacen Chris. I enjoy Nightwing in Gotham much more than traveling around. Barrows picks good partners to complement his artwork, and Rod Reis’ color palette is awesome. I’m very excited about this new arc.
