I almost wish I could have skipped Seige #4, and just read the post-Seige titles, because every single one of them has been fantastic, and this is no exception.  This is a weighty send-off to The New Avengers, which is certainly due since it is the last issue of New Avengers, like, ever.  Or next month when New New Avengers #1 comes out.

But even though there isn’t actually a closing of a series, just a pause before renumbering, it IS the end of the Secret Dark House Of Disassembled Civil World Reignvasion.  And that gets its due here, with Bendis closing off all the main avenues of the last few months, and Hitch doing servicably epic pencils (nothing mind blowing, but nothing awful, either).  This is a double-sized one shot issue (which I don’t understand why it couldn’t just be issue #65, but that’s probably why I’m not working in the Marvel Marketing Department), and there is much more action, much more character development, and much more fun than I anticipated.

Story: 5 - Excellent

  1. Excellent punnage…

  2. I think it was unintentional, as I don’t even see what I did there.

I mean, thanks.  It was totally on purpose.
