That was quiet.
Not that it was a quiet issue, but it definitely felt like the calm before the storm. I had a blast reading this, even though I have no idea who this Maya Lopez chick is. I’m relatively new to the Avengers, I started to read them just two months ago. Picked up a couple of back issues, read the first two trades, ordered the rest.

This book had some of the best panels I’ve seen in a long time. They were calm when they needed to be, they were dynamic when it was called for.
The dialogue…well we don’t need to talk about it. As always with Bendis, superb. I could read a 500 pages book from him in which two people just talk about the weather and I’d still think it’s the greatest thing ever.

I just love the Avengers right now. It has been become fairly quickly one of my most anticipated books of the month.
And that’s all due to iFanboy by the way; hadn’t I heard about the stuff on the show, I’d never have tried it.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good

  1. so, were there two covers for New Avengers this month? Because my doesn’t look like that, but I don’t think it says variant anywhere on it…

  2. I believe there was some sort of controversy about this cover so it was pulled at the last minute. I think.
