A solid writer can plot a story that contains five thousand years of events, and fit it comfortably into 28 pages of story.  A solid writer can stretch a split second into 28 pages of story, as well.  Somehow, Van Lente’s 13:45 (there’s a timer on several pages) seems too constricted for him.  There’s no flow to the story, just jerky movements around the plot, which finally gets around to shipping Deadpool off to the island where we’ve already encountered him in “The Merc With A Mouth”.  The whole issue felt poorly paced.  Rushed in all the wrong places.  But the art was appropriately creepy.
