This series is way too awesome to be in regular continuity.

I mean I’m
pretty sure it is, but it is way too much fun for it to be.

I loved the
wonder that we felt with the boys going under water. I love when Marvel
brings back the huge sea monsters from the early days of the company.
It adds a sense of wonder that usually is only associated with DC
books.

Of course DC also has the Legion of Super Pets and this group
would kick their asses in.

I was a little surprised to see the return
of the villain in the end of this, but not too much so, since the
character’s history and the main plot device is pretty intertwined. I
just hope we get a good explanation why he’s here next issue.

The art
is perfect here and doesn’t make the animals look human.
