LAST DEFENDERS #2 (OF 6)

LAST DEFENDERS #2 reads like a poor man’s Fantastic Four, as we’re presented with a quartet of misfit supeheroes who just can’t seem to get along.  Sure, they’re all on the same page in terms of fighting crime, but the infighting give birth to a crew that never quite manages to grasp the notion that there is no “I” in team.  If these characters were a bit more charismatic (or if we knew more about their back-stories), then their bickering might be more forgivable.  But as it stands, the infighting feels more like a hackneyed device than an organic way in which these characters interact.  Still waiting to see where this one goes in the next issue, but at present, it all feels a bit forced.
