Well we finally have a new crew on Justice League of America, but the question is whether it can reach the heights of a flagship title is yet to be seen. This isn’t a terrible issue by any means. We get some decent character moments and a showdown with Despero. The problem I had with this issue is that it brings us back to the whole reforming the team shtick, which was what bogged down the Cry For Justice mini-series. As much as a new team deserves an introduction to bring in new readers I would have preferred getting straight into the Blackest Night stuff. In the end this issue didn’t feel super important but even if this issue wasn’t the greatest it still shows improvement.

Mark Bagley’s art is just as cool as it was in Trinity. The colors are vibrant and everything about the art is strong. Bagely is definitely the right man for the job even if Robinson doesn’t turn out to be the ideal writer.

If this series doesn’t get better It’ll probably end up on my chopping block again. But for now I’m with the series.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 4 - Very Good
