Joker. That title alone got me incredibly excited, and unfortunately I was let down.

Keep in mind I’m a film critic and am new to the comic medium, but I feel that I have a very good eye for telling story telling and any form of art. That being said, I enjoyed the artwork but the story kinda left me asking for more. You have possibly the hottest comic villain currently, gave him his own story, and just somewhat dropped the ball on it. I don’t want to give the story away so I won’t dive into the plot or anything, but there really is nothing special to this comic, and it is a quite forgettable story. The art work however is grim, dark, and flat out creepy that really helped set the tone for the book. It made me feel afraid of the Joker and gave the characters a chance to develop. The one thing I will say about this is they really do do a great job developing the Joker, everyone else… not so much. I never once felt for the narrator which is a shame since I felt there was a lot to work with from this point of view.

All in all I would suggest this to only Batman fans, or people still trying to get their Joker fix from the Dark Knight. I hope we get some better stories about the villains, but for now I would point towards the Arkham Asylum books.
