Lateness can affect a book in many ways. One of them can be the pacing, the other can be confusion. I mean how many times have we read something, waited a while to read it again, and forget everything that’s happened before? Sadly, Grant Morrison’s epic fantasy about a kid in diabetic shock has meet both of these qualities.

I seriously could not tell you what happened before this issue. Now I know that is, mostly, all on me. I should’ve read the issues beforehand to remember extactly what is going on at a particular moment. But I seriously lost a good amount of enjoyment with this issue because it lost me practically with the first page. It doesn’t help that Morrison just continues to cruise through the story and not give a moment to at least give some type of breather for the readers. We literally go from one fight to the next and it is hard to keep all of the players in check. Technically, this is as well written as any issue by Grant Morrison. But with the huge delay in-between issues, it really just hurts the enjoyment here.

At least we have Sean Murphy’s absolutely gorgeous pencils to keep our attention going. I would kill to see more of Batman, Superman, and Captain Picard fighting evil forces for a comic. Get going on that DC!

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
