Man, this is what I wanted from War Machine. Jim Rhodes AKA Bad Ass.

Seriously, when the Iron Man film was released and Rhodey looked at that suit I was screaming for him to put it on and throughout the recent run of Avengers Initiative I have been dying to see Jim step up (his part in the K.I.A arc was brilliant).

Chris Gage is writing this so already its promising (this guy is seriously good) and it delivers. The story is great, well written, well placed and just enough of a recap for anyone wanting to jump on board. The art is good and works well with the story, especially the final page (again highlighting Rhodey as a massive threat for the skrulls).

So Jim is busy at Camp Hammond and then has a message from Iron Man. This scence made me think of Rhodey as R2D2 and Iron Man as Princess Leia in Star Wars: A New Hoope ‘help me Rhodey, you’re my only hope’ as a holgram of Iron Man plays to War Machine at Camp Hammond explaining the recent StarkTech failure. But I digress. Jim is sent on a one man mission to help protect Earth and he steps up and delivers going to face them head on. I don’t want to reveal anymore but when we see what this is doing to Jim (you’ll know what I mean) you really cheer the boy on.

Without a doubt an awesome issue. The Skrulls best watch out as this guy won’t be embracing anything but dead Skrull bodies!!!!!!!!
