As a fellow fan of this series, I cannot tell you how disappointed I was with how mired in Fear Itself this title was. If the Immortal Weapons had been fleshed out as a supporting cast, or the FF or Avengers had made more appearances than the eleventh issue, and Rhodes had been given a few story arcs to cement his own vision for what it means to be an Iron Man 2.0, then I could have loved this title more. The Olivetti art either should have been consistent, or they should have used the fill-ins on this last issue the whole time, since I have never even heard of Giandomenico and Pierfederic, but man did they do a great job giving it a true comic book feel. I had to literally count how many more pages it took before any sort of concrete ending was in sight, and boy was it rushed. A great and high concept threat, but an execution that feels too editorial and too shoehorned into the latest event. I hope we see more of Rhodes and his unique armor, or even if we see this “new” armor he chats with Tony Stark about at the end.

Story: 4 - Very Good
