Man Tony Stark can be stupid sometimes. I mean, Bruce literally Hulks out to beat the crap out of him and yet he doesn’t see it coming?

It’s only two issues but I already want to crown Mark Waid as the best comic writer for Marvel. He’s reinvented Daredevil and now he is doing his best to reinvent Bruce Banner. Not Hulk mind you, Banner. I loved everything about this issue. The tension with Stark and Banner, the nice humor peppered through out, and the weird set piece for this fight. (Himalayas? Not the first time Yu has to draw Hulk in the mountains…)

I could kill to have Leinil Yu to draw EVERYTHING at Marvel. I love his character designs but I adore everything about his panel layouts. Especially when it comes to the fights. It all looks so damn cinematic and it is just plain fun to look at Yu’s panels. Also, shout out to Chris Eliopoulos for some amazing looking sound effects. The one of the mountain exploding is a particular highlight.

This might be my favorite Marvel book thanks to this relaunch. It is a lot of fun to read, thanks to Mark Waid; and it is a lot of fun to look at, thanks to Leinil Yu. Could this be the best pairing for Marvel right now creatively? As it stands: Yes, yes it is.

  1. I agree, of the newly launched Marvel books, I say Hulk is the best one.
