This book had really pretty art.
I think that Ed McGuinness is the perfect artist for this book and have thought so ever since he drew him in the second issue of Deadpool way back when. His art is cartoony and fun and makes this run a hell of a lot better than it has any right to be.
That being said, most of this issue blew. I am entirely finished giving any sort of a damn about the Red Hulk. His identity could turn out to be Steve Rogers for all the damn I give any more.
Having him "suck out the gamma" from Bruce was just retarded and obviously just an excuse to keep the focus on him for a while.
I said in my review of the new She Hulk book, they are spreading this concept too thin too quickly.
I want Loeb to stay on miniseries as he still has really fun and funny moments (see his Watchmen references). But letting him do long form stuff with characters leaves me feeling the "mysteries" he's weaving are just poorly thought out McGuffins to rehash as many "classic" elements as he can think of.
Still this issue was worth it just to see and Ed McG Modok if nothing else.
