This is tough for me to type down so let me do it now…….

I’m starting to get tired of this ‘event’.

I can’t believe I am saying this but it’s true! Fred Van Lente and Greg Pak has done nothing but gold for almost two years now. But with this ‘Assault on New Olympus’ in it’s third issue, I just have to say I am getting bored of it.

The problem with this issue is that there is too much exposition. Now I always love it when the writer’s throw in a bit of Greek Mythology. It definitely works here cause, like I’m sure with everyone else, I didn’t know who most of these myths were. But by the time we are done introducing the ‘foot soldiers’ for Hera the issue is practically over. Plus the whole thing with Delphyne and Cho just seemed a bit out of place. It’s been a very long time since these two have been together so the whole romance angle bored me as well.

The art, like the rest of the issue, is just there. Trust me when I say that I am so disappointed that I have not enjoyed this event so far. It has been something in the making since the beginning of this series, but the execution is just not perfect. I really hope that after this issue, the shit really starts hitting the fan and I start to like this series again. I am a devoted reader through and through; but when it gets bad you know I have to voice it out.

Story: 2 - Average
Art: 3 - Good

  1. I would agree on the main story, but I thought the Agents of Atlas has been great (if only tiny bits at a time.)
