Don’t trust your eyes–the covers are comedically misrepresentative of the comic you’ll find inside.

If you aren’t reading it already, you’re missing one of the strongest offerings in the new DC lineup. I, VAMPIRE has been firing all the guns at once since issue #1 and now, with issue #5, is stepping into the greater DC universe.

While not as strong on its own as the previous four issues, issue #5 doesn’t do much to disappoint–Falkiov’s Batman (who is absolutely spot-on) meshes well with the intensely shadowy and dramatic tone of the series so far and makes a nice springboard for propelling this book into the coming crossover with JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK.

Read this book, recommend this book, and enjoy this book: the writing is nuanced, the characters are convincing, the dialogue is entertaining, the art is gorgeous, and it doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. Don’t let this book be another early cancellation.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
