I would kill to see a Hit-Monkey mini ever year. Let’s not overexpose the character like Deadpool or Wolverine, a single 3 issue mini series is all I ever need.

The bloodbath continues with this issue as Bullseye enters the fray. Since Jason Aaron revived the character in his MAX book, I’m actually glad to see this guy here. Having him fight a monkey is funny, but considering how this book is it will also be fun to watch. To be honest, the story itself is pretty light and not really worth talking about. It feels like a straight to DVD film if I can make a comparison. All you really need to know is that Hit-Monkey is on a quest for vengence but Bullseye is on his tail. When Way tries to actually put real humor in this, and not the seriousness of it all, it works somewhat. This won’t be remembered as humourous at his Deadpool work but what he gives here is pretty good.

Dalibor Talajic continues to show why he’s a great, new find for Marvel. He handles the violence in this well and never makes anything too jokey. Well there is a page of a horse deficating but…..well we gotta have poop jokes somewhere. I will say though that the faces in this issue are a bit weird. They looked pretty good the last issue but here, not so much. Very distorted and ugly to look at most of the time. Bullseye is fine cause he’s in a mask, but the women in this issue are not human.

It looks like the next issue will just be guns a blazing with Hit-Monkey vs Bullseye. It’s gonna be a fun way to end this mini for sure. As it stands this is a solid issue and I hope more people should be reading this.
