Bro! Bro! Bullseye, bro! Buy this book!

I consider myself a moderate Hawkeye fanboy. With this new #1 by Fraction, Aja, and Hollingsworth . . . I am on board. This depiction of Clint Barton shows a man who is both hero and human. He is an Avenger, a regular man, flawed, big hearted, and a hero.

The story is moving. It left me with a big sigh and a feeling of, “What? This is it? I want more!” With that I am only saying I think this was a great set up and I look forward to Fraction’s take on Clint Barton.

The art is freaking amazing! Great story telling! The art reminded me of Mazzucchelli from Batman Year One. It is perfect for this book and I think it is near perfect.

The only con I have is that I think the word, “BRO” was used an ungodly amount of times in the dialogue. Still, the pacing and pulpy drama had me page by page. This was a great done-in-one that sets up many stories for our arrow slinging Avenger. As I said, I am on board to follow the describe “self-made Hawkeye” find his way in the world.

Story: 5 - Excellent
