This issue is really everything that an issue with the words "Green Lantern Corp: Annual" should be.It wraps up this part of what appears to be a story arc with two parts. The first being Rise of the Third Army and the second being Wrath of the First Lantern.
The art is so-so but is at least more consistent then many other New 52 Annuals that are packed full of guest artists doing a single page.
The story has everything a GLC story should have and acts as a five dollar ring-slinging popcorn fluff that unites stories from Green Lantern, Green Lantern Corp, Red Lanterns and Green Lantern New Guardians for the first time in the New 52.We haven't seen Guy Gardner interact with Kyle Rayner until this issue.
All in all it's a good story that wraps up everything in Rise of the Third Army, something that Green Lantern is not known for doing, and gives us a tantalizing glimpse at the power of the enigmatic First Lantern.
And last but not least. One word.

I don’t know that Green Lantern even really exists in the new 52. It has retained all aspects of continuity I can see, except Hal appears younger. I thought the issue was more rushed than I would have liked. I enjoyed it for all the action, and you are right that it is nice to see an annual do SOMETHING. I would have liked more understanding in what is going on with the Guardians, but I guess we will have to wait for the end of the next Green Lantern “event.” If it happens all the time shouldn’t it just be a “Green Lantern normal”?
