To those that dropped this book after the new creative came on board, you are missing out. I loved everything about this book, both story and art were fantastic. Kirkham's art really shines in this issue, especially during the Sinestro and Kyle fight. Bedard's story seemed like it had everything. I loved the back story about the Qwardians and there downfall and how it tied into Blackest Night and even Crisis on Infinite Earths. We also get treated to a kick ass fight scene between Sinestro and Kyle Rayner sans power rings. During the fight Sinestro brags about his elite Kourgarian fighting style and he ask Kyle where he learned to fight. Kyle responds with a shot to the gut and simply says, "Batman". I nearly lost my shit. I'd even nominate that as one of the panels of the week. This story didn't involve every color of the rainbow, it was just a good simple Green Lantern story.

I’m noticing, thanks to Batman The Return this week, that maybe Batt’s inks were the problem here and not Kirkham’s. Cause I dropped GLC in a heartbeat after seeing that tragedy you would call ‘art’ in the last issue.
The art here is grrowing on me just like Gleason’s before. At first I couldn’t stand him but he vastly improved over the course of his run.
I also instantly went, "Ooh, Panel of the Week!" on that same page!
Put me in the “do not like” art camp. I felt a potential panel of the week (“Batman”) just came off lame, to me. Also, structurally, to have the very next panel be Sinestro kicking Kyle’s ass seriopusly undercut the Batman line/one page spread.
