Ah, the Star Sapphires.  The psycho ex-girlfriends of the DC Universe.  Although this issue only really provides what you'd expect out of the first issue of an arc, it's made more readable by Tomasi's incapable-of-not-being-hot-headed Guy Gardner.  It was funny that he even tried to be calm with Ice.  Of course, it didn't last long.  Some interesting threads are set up, such as a foreshadowed vendetta against Mongul on the part of the Star Sapphires, and a little more info on the Black Lanterns and the search for the Anti-Monitor.  A giant "hand"?  Isn't the Black Lantern symbol the same sa that of Black Hand's?  Anyway, a decent read.
