This was a very good intro to the upcoming Green Lantern event. Hal and Sinestro allied against Black Hand, using their powers in different ways is always cool to see. Ethan Van Sciver on art is also great.

One criticism of this issue would be the portrayal of the Guardians. They have been setting up the Guardians as the ultimate big bad here in wanting to eliminate the Green Lantern Corps and create the Third Army that will bring order to the universe. However, their reasoning seems flawed. This could be a way to simply establish their irrational natures but its a little off. Also, the intro of the Third Army is a bit weak. I hope I’m wrong but I didn’t get a sense that this was a major threat to the Green Lanterns.

Still, it left me looking forward to next month’s 0 issue and the intro of the newest Green Lantern.

  1. This was a good story and GL Rebirth was one of the books that got me back into comics. If they are replacing Hal Jordan it is another DC book I will drop. THe new 52 has been very hit or miss and Green Lantern was one of the hits.
